We have received more than 50 contributions adding up to more than$3,000. Thank you SO much for all the help we've gotten so far.
As you may have noticed, we have done two things: 1) We have extended our deadline for this fundraising campaign untilthe end of September. We have done this because we still need your help. 2) We have also included in the ChipIn widget (to the right) ourfundraising goal. We need to raise $20,000 by the end of September. This may sounds like a lot, but we feel it can be accomplished. Watch the video below: ![]() Fundaraising Status Update
We've raised more than $1,600 so far, from more than 30 community supporters.
We are still receiving donations (we will be continuing with ourcampaign until the end of August). You can read all about how to getinvolved in our Fundraising page. Remember: no amount is too small, every little bit helps! ![]() (pardon the raspy voice... We know that diabetes is a disease that can be very hard to live all byyourself, without knowing others who really understand you. That is whywe formed the great family of TuDiabetes.com that now has more than 3,000 members from around the world.
Earlier this year, the Diabetes Hands Foundation was formed to run our communities. This was possible thanks in part to the partnership with LifeScan around the Word In Your Hand project. However, that partnership will only let us cover part of our operationalexpenses. We will not be able to cover all our costs this year withoutmore help. So, today I come to ask YOU for help. You know us and you know where we come from and what we do. Itrust you will find it in you to help us however you can. No amount is too small. If you can give $100, that is great. If you can only give $5, that is great too. If you cannot afford to donate or you don’t want to donate, please consider the following options:
Where will the money go? The Diabetes Hands Foundation runs three units: 1) Our Online Communities: TuDiabetes.com and EsTuDiabetes.com; 2)Diabetes Awareness Initiatives, such as Word In Your Hand, Drawing Diabetes and several other ideas you will be hearing about in thecoming weeks and months; 3) Partnerships for a Healthier Life: wherewe are constantly looking for other services to offer to you for free,so you can lead a healthier life. These units require funds torun and maintain. Your money will go to pay for salaries, covertechnology expenses, supplies, postage and other things that make ourcommunity and our initiatives possible. We don’t have shinysalaries: as a matter of fact, I am making today 35% less than I made afew months ago. But we are happy because we are doing what we love! Weare one big family. We want as much as possible of the money that helpsrun the Diabetes Hands Foundation to come from the family, not from theoutside. As a matter of fact, we would love to see 100% participationin our community. So please help us so we can do more, reachout to more people touched by diabetes and continue to raise awarenessabout diabetes. If you have questions on how to donate (online or offline), please check our Fundraising page in Tudiabetes.com. ~ Manny Hernandez, Founder TuDiabetes.com |
